ATLS - Advanced Trauma Life Support^®

Designed for doctors who care for injured patients, The Advanced Trauma Life Support Course (ATLS) teaches a systematic, concise approach to the early care of the trauma patient. This course is vital to guiding care for the injured patient in emergency department trauma rooms. The course training provides a common language that can save lives in critical situations.

TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course^®

Trauma nursing as a discipline refers to the process and content of all the different roles nurses have in the care of the trauma patient. Knowledge is the core of any discipline. The purpose of TNCC is to present core-level knowledge, refine skills, and build a firm foundation in trauma nursing.

CATN II - Course in Advance Trauma Nursing II^®

TODAY'S TRAUMA NURSE must possess the ability to correlate broad physiologic/pathophysiologic processes to specific clinical problems. In advanced trauma nursing, physiologic principles and human responses are applied to injury, enabling the nurse to move beyond the traditional roles and responsibilities of the trauma nurse. The practice of trauma nursing encompasses comprehensive knowledge of trauma care systems, expertise in complex decision making, and knowledge of bioethical considerations in trauma care.

Rural Trauma Team Development Course^®

The Rural Trauma Team Development Course^©, hereafter known as RTTDC^©, has been developed by the ad hoc Rural Trauma committee of the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma to help rural hospitals with development of their trauma teams. It is hoped the course will improve the quality of care in their community by developing a timely, organized, rational response to the care of the trauma patient and a team approach that addresses the common problems in the initial assessment and stabilization of the injured. It is the purpose of RTTDC^© to increase the efficiency of resource utilization and improve the level of care provided to the injured patient in the rural environment.

PHTLS - Prehospital Trauma Life Support^®

Prehospital Trauma Life Support website

Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) courses are recognized around the world as education programs for prehospital emergency health care professionals that bring the care of the trauma patient into a single focus. PHTLS promotes excellence in trauma patient management by all providers involved in the delivery of prehospital care through global education. PHTLS is developed by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.
